Sign First Partnership Agreement in the Gray Administration

The District of Columbia Nurses Association (DCNA), along with three other labor organizations, signed a Labor Management Partnership Agreement with the Department on Disability Services (DDS).  This is the first Partnership Agreement in the Gray Administration.  Please click here to see the Partnership Agreement.

DCNA represents Registered Nurses at DDS, the government agency that oversees and coordinates health and employment services for residents with disabilities.  Edward J. Smith, Staff Attorney for DCNA, remarked that “it has taken far too long for agencies to reach out to labor and recognize that our members are crucial to the success of programs and services provided to the residents of this great city.  We are hopeful that through partnership we can improve services to the community and create a workplace in which registered nurses are able to utilize their skills as health care professionals and where each employee is treated with respect and dignity.”

DCNA, an affiliate of the National Nurses United, AFL-CIO, represents approximately 250 registered nurses employed by the Government of the District of Columbia and over 2000 professionals in the District of Columbia.
